PROMTONG MANSION is a small bed & breakfast, owns and runs by a local Thai family. Located in a nice & quiet area in the middle of Ayutthaya Island, on 23 Pathon Road, Pathon Soi 19. Only 5 minutes walk to Wat Maha That - home of famous "the Buddha's face in a tree" and Wat Ratchaburana. Easily reach all the historical sites within the old city. Police Station, Dechawut Post Office, pharmacy, 2 local night markets, 7/11 shops & ATMs are nearby. Free swim at a swimming pool of Baan Tebpitak (newly opened sister' Bed & Breakfast, more details are on www.baantebpitak.com), 1min.by bike or 7min.walk. How to get here from Lopburi ?
: either take an ordinary train (1hr 10min, 20B/person) or a local a/c mini-van from Lopburi to Ayutthaya (2hrs, 50B/seat, pay extra for luggage). Then, take a tuk tuk from train (60B/tuk tuk/trip) or bus (50B/tuk tuk/trip) station to Promtong Mansion.
How to get here from North of Thailand ?
: direct flight from Chieng Mai to Don Muang airport (DMK) with NOKAIR (www.nokair.com) is inexpensive. Get a taxi (800B/taxi, a 30min. trip) to us or walk 2km to Don Muang Train Station and take a train to Ayutthaya (1hr 30min, 15B). If you do not wish to fly please take
A. Train from Chieng Mai or Pitsanulok (buy tickets at all train staions or online at www.railway.co.th). When arrive at Ayutthaya Train Station, you either take a tuk tuk (60B/tuk tuk/trip) or walk to a ferry pier (opposite the train station) and take a ferry (5B, during 06:00-18:00) to Ayutthaya Island. When you reach the Island, you are now on U-tong Road. Then turn left & walk on this road for 5min. until you reach a vocational school (on your right). At the T junction, turn right to Pathon Road. Walk another 5min. pass an internet shop, some buildings & Ayutthaya Baptist Church, etc., then cross a junction. Walk another 5min. pass a 7/11 shop, Police station, Dechawut Post Office & Sherwood House. Look for Pathon Soi 19 on your left-side. You see the sign "PROMTONG MANSION".
B. Bus from Chieng Mai or Sukhothai. Please tell your bus driver in advance that you want to stop at Ayutthaya bus stop. It is a tiny bus stop & located next to the high way (7km from Ayutthaya Old City). Please take a tuk tuk or taxi to us (200B/tuk tuk/trip or 300B/taxi/trip).
How to get here from Kanchanaburi ?
: the quickest way is by a taxi, costs between 2000-2500B/taxi (depends on size of the taxi and how far of your place in Kanchanaburi).
If you want to make your own way on a/c mini-van, please
A. Check availability of an a/c mini-van with your host. It is a direct trip of 2hr30min. The mini-van departs at 13:00, daily. It costs around 400B/person. Please tell the driver to take you to Promtong Mansion. He will drops you here without any extra cost.
B. Take local bus (50B/person) or local a/c mini-van (80B/seat, pay extra for your bags) to Supanburi. Then, transfer to another local a/c mini-van to Ayutthaya (80B/seat, pay extra for your bags). When you arrive at Ayutthaya mini-van station, please take a tuk tuk to us (50B/tuk tuk).
Please notes : Yello-bus (recommended by some guidebooks) from Supanburi to Ayutthaya, is out of business since October 2011.

HOW TO GET TO PROMTONG MANSION?
From Suwannabhumi Airport (BKK):
A. the quickest way (1hr or depend on traffic) is to take a "public taxi", costs 1300-1500B/taxi (depend on the taxi size), tollway & airport-taxi-service fee included. After passing immigration & getting your lugguage, please follow "public taxi" sign. The public taxi station is on the 1st floor, Gate 7. Please walk outside the gate, you see 2-3 AOT small desks. Please tell AOT staff that Promtong Mansion is in the old city, Ayutthaya Island (if need help talking to the staff, please call us on 0891656297). Always ask for the price before taking the taxi. Then, the AOT staff will give you a small paper which is total price and your driver details & contact number. Please keep it with you. If you forget something on the taxi, you have the driver information. So, it is easy to track him. If you need a "limo-taxi" or mercedes benz taxi, it is 2800B/trip. The limo-taxi station is on the 3rd floor, Gate 7. Walk outside, you see a small AOT desk there.
B. get white mini-van (the Express Shuttle Bus) from the airport to the airport bus terminal. From there you take either
B1.Mini-van no.551 (goes every 15min.) to Victory Monument in Bangkok (50B, 50min.) and then take another mini-van (in front of Fashion Mall) to Ayutthaya (goes every 30min.) during 06:00-19:00, no need to book in advance. (60B/seat, must pay an extra seat for luggages,1hr). You then either take a tuk tuk (5min.only, 50B/tuk tuk) from the last stop to us or when the mini-van is on the large bridge crossing the Pasak River to Ayutthaya Island, you tell the driver to drop you at the Ayutthaya Police Station (on Pathon Road), then you walk (5min.only) pass a 7/11 shop, Dechawut Post Office & Sherwood House.
B2.Mini-van no.554 (goes every 15min.) to Don Muang International Airport (50B, 45min.) then walk (2km) to Don Muang Train Station. Take a train to Ayutthya during 07:00-22:30 (fare is 15B, 1hr30min.). At Ayutthaya Train Station you either take a tuk tuk (60B/tuk tuk) from the train station to us or you walk to a ferry pier (opposite the train station) & take a ferry (run daily between 05:30-18:00) cross the Pasak River to Ayutthaya Island. When you reach the Island, you are now on U-tong Road, turn left & walk on this road for 5min. until you reach a vocational school (on your right) and turn right to Pathon Road. You walk on this road for another 5min. (pass an internet shop & some buildings), then cross a junction, walk for another 5min. (pass a 7/11 shop, Dechawut Post Office & Sherwood House).
C. take a sky train (an airport link) to Prayathai station, then,
C1. take another sky train to Victory Monument, then take a/c mini-van (in front of the Fashion Mall) to Ayutthaya (goes every 30min.) during 06:00-19:00, no need to book in advance. (60B/seat, must pay an extra seat for luggages, 1hr 15min.). You then either take a tuk tuk (5min.only, 50B/tuk tuk) from the last stop to us or when the mini-van is on the large bridge crossing the Pasak River to Ayutthaya Island, you tell the driver to drop you at the Ayutthaya Police Station (on Pathon Road), then you walk (5min.only) pass a 7/11 shop, Dechawut Post Office & Sherwood House.
C2. take another sky train to Silom Station, then, an underground to Hualampong train station. Then, take a train from Hualampong train station, during 06:30-22:00, to Ayutthaya (2hrs), fare is 20B/person. At Ayutthaya Train Station, you either take a tuk tuk (10min.only) to us (60B/tuk tuk) or you walk to a ferry pier(opposite the train station)& take a ferry (run between 05:30-18:00) to Ayutthaya Island. When you reach the Island, you are now on U-tong Road, then turn left & walk on this road for 5min. until you reach a vocational school (on your right) and turn right to Pathon Road. You walk (another 5min.) pass an internet shop & some buildings, then cross a junction, and walk(another 5min.) pass a 7/11 shop, Police station, Dechawut Post Office & Sherwood House.
From Don Muang Airport (DMK): the quickest way to get here is by car/taxi (800THB/taxi/trip), or limo-taxi (mercedes benz taxi ; 1100THB/taxi/trip) takes around 30min. If you want to make your way on public transport, please walk (2 km) to Dong Muang Train Station. Take a train to Ayutthya during 07:00-22:30 (fare is 15B, 1hr30min). At Ayutthaya Train Station you either take a tuk tuk (60B/tuk tuk) from the train station to us or you walk to a ferry pier (opposite the train station) & take a ferry (run daily between 05:30-18:00) cross the Pasak River to Ayutthaya Island. When you reach the Island, you are now on U-tong Road, turn left & walk on this road for 5min. until you reach a vocational school (on your right) and turn right to Pathon Road. From Bangkok : the quickest way to get here is by car/taxi, takes around 1hr, depend on where you are located in Bangkok. If you want to make your own way on public transport, please go to:
A. Victory Monument (in fron of the Fashion Mall) take a/c mini-van to Ayutthaya during 06:00-19:00, no need to book in advance and goes every 30min. (60B/seat, pay extra for luggage,1hr 15min.). You then either take a tuk tuk (5min.only) from the last stop to us (50B/tuk tuk) or when the mini-van is on the large bridge crossing the Pasak River to Ayutthaya Island, you tell the driver to drop you at the police station (on Pathon Road), then walk (5min.only) pass 7/11 shop, Dechawut Post Office & Sherwood House.
B. Hualampong Train Station take trains during 06:40-22:00 to Ayutthaya (2hrs+, 20B/person). At Ayutthaya Train Station, you either take a tuk tuk to us (60B/tuk tuk) or walk to a ferry pier (opposite the train station) & take a ferry (4-5B/person, run between 05:30-18:00) to Ayutthaya Island. When you reach the Island, you are now on U-tong Road. Then turn left & walk on this road for 5min. until you reach a vocational school (on your right). At the T junction, turn right to Pathon Road. Walk another 5min. pass an internet shop, some buildings & Ayutthaya Baptist Church, etc., then cross a junction. Walk another 5min. pass a 7/11 shop, Police station, Dechawut Post Office & Sherwood House. Look for Pathon Soi 19 on your left-side. You see the sign "PROMTONG MANSION".
C. North & Northern Bus Terminal (Mor-Chit) take a/c bus during 05:30-18:00 (56B/person, 1hr 40min.) to Ayutthaya. Then you either take a tuk tuk to us (50B/tuk tuk) or when the bus is crossing the large bridge to Ayutthaya Island, you tell the driver to drop you at the police station (on Pathon Road), then walk (5min.only) pass 7/11shop, Dechawut Post Office & Sherwood House.
Note: To get to Northern Bus Terminal, take to Moh Chit BTS Station. Upon exiting gantry gates, cross the bridge on the right to go to bus-stop, and take bus service 3 or bus service 77 (air-con buses charge 12B, non air-con buses charge 7B). Bus ride is about 10 – 15 minutes and the Northern Bus Terminal destination is the last stop for the bus services. However, buses do not stop in the Northern Bus Terminal, but at the bus stop across. Cross the bridge to get to the Bus Terminal.
D. Sounthern Bus Terminal turn right out of the bus terminal and walk for 1 bus stop, then, cross the street. Look for Susco Petrol Station. Take a/c mini-van in front of the Susco Petrol Station during 05:30-18:00 to Ayutthaya (1hr 30min, 70B/seat). When you arrive Ayutthaya mini-van station (on Naresuan Rd.) please take a tuk tuk to us (50B/tuk tuk) or look for 7/11 (in front of you), turn left & walk (2 min) until you reach 2 broken pagodas. At this point, turn left & walk pass Wat Maha-That. Continue walking for 5 min., you reach a big roundabout. Turn left at the roundabount & walk for 50 metres. Please look on your right, you see our "PROMTONG MANSION" sign, opposite of the road. We are located on Pathon Soi 19.
